A novel gibberellin glucoside, which was found as an immunoreactive substance against anti-GA4-antibody in extracts of rice anthers, has been identified as 16α,17-dihydroxy-16,17-dihydrogibberellin A4-17-O-β-d-glucopyranoside by comparison of the mass spectra and Kovats retention indices after GC-MS of permethylated derivatives of the natural and synthetic compound. Co-occurrence of 16α,17-dihydroxy-16,17-dihydrogibberellin A7-17-O-β-d-glucoside was also indicated.
