A new furostanol saponin, named hypoglaucin F, was isolated from the rhizomes of Dioscorea collettii var. hypoglauca, along with seven known compounds. On the basis of detailed chemical and spectroscopic evidence, the structure of hypoglaucin F was determined as (25S)-26-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl 22-hydroxy-5-en-furostane-3-β,26,27-triol 3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)]-β-D-glucopyranoside.
