Three new pentacyclic triterpenes, identified as olean-11-one-13(18)-ene 1, urs-3-one 2 and 30-desmethyl-urs-3-on-20-ol 4 and one unknown alicyclic glycoside, 10-nonylcyclohex-12-ene-11-glucoside 7 have been isolated from the root bark of Mangifera indica cultivar Desi in addition to the known compounds β-sitosterol glycoside, mangiferin and isomangiferin. The structures of these phytoconstituents have been established on the basis of spectral data and chemical transformation.
