Studies on the structures of udosaponins A,B,C,D,E, and F from Aralia cordata Thunb
Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin 37(9) (1989) 2318-2321

Six new triterpenoid saponins, named udosaponins A, B, C, D, E, and F, were isolated as methyl esters, 2,6,7,8,9 and 11,respectively, along with five kinown saponins as methyl esters, 1,3,4,5 and 10,from the aerial parts of Aralia cordata THUNB. (Araliaceae). On the basis of 13C-nuclear magnetic resonance spectra and chemical evidence, these saponins were established to be oleanane-type saponins having a glucuronopyranosyl residue at the C-3 position of oleanolic acid and hederagenin.
